Schools vs Coaching Centres
All students deserve an education that prepares them for college, career and global citizenship. Teachers and schools around the world are transforming education by embracing innovation. Education leaders are recognizing the power and promise of personalized learning, whereby students receive the instruction they need when they need it. Teachers are blending in-person instruction with technology to differentiate lessons, using real-time data to personalize learning and allow for mastery-based progression, and they are incorporating student choice into instructional decisions.
The highly competitive pathway to higher education in India has created a very unhealthy environment in the Indian education system. The primacy of the schools has been eroded gradually and the coaching centres have gained predominance. All the stakeholders in the education system face multiple pain points due to compulsion the students have to undergo in juggling with learning at school which prepares them for the board exams and also the coaching centres which prepare them for the competitive exams.
School vs Coaching Centre
The pressure on the students has increased manifold as they have to contend with the twin challenges of learning at the schools as well as at the coaching centres which are progressing at two different paces. In their anxiety to assist their children to prepare well for the competitive exams, the parents make the students go to multiple coaching centres for different subjects. The students have to get up at unearthly hours to attend the coaching centres at different locations in the city; learn lessons, submit assignments and give tests at school as well as coaching centres which are not synchronised. This puts enormous pressure on the students as most of them do not find time for any other hobby and even their bio-clock goes for a toss.
Parents Anxiety
Few anxious parents, who want their children to achieve success in academics as well as their careers, unwittingly add to the agony of the children. The pathetic state of affairs triggers a great amount of anxiety among many parents who are worried about the physical and mental state and the safety of their children.
Primacy of School
Schools are also under pressure from parents to achieve high academic results are left with no choice but to load the students with additional work, as they do not have any control over the after-school activities of the children. By offering the personalised learning to the students, the schools can regain their primacy by providing everything that a student needs under one roof and also reduce the anxiety of parents by facilitating and providing coaching for competitive exams, create opportunities for the students to pursue their hobbies.
After School Support Program
I am of the firm belief that innovation is the key to preparing students to meet the challenges of higher education and the requirements for the all round development of the students. A hybrid learning platform that provides teachers with tools to personalize learning for students, enabling mastery-based progression and increasing student engagement, growth, and achievement is the need of the hour
